Raul Cuero's interview about Creativity

             Pablo Picasso is quoted as having said that "good artists borrow, great artists steal", a sentiment that even Steve Jobs has echoed. I didn't set out today to drag two of the most influential creators of all time, but it's worth pointing out that this statement is one that microbiologist Dr. Raul Cuero seems to be in misalignment with.                          One of the biggest things that stuck out to me in Dr. Cuero's interview was the emphasis on utilizing the power of induction rather than deduction to foster creative thinking: merging what is inside you with your own observations of the world to create something wholly unique, rather than piling off of information that already exists and has been explored.              I think this is a thought process that I would do well to implement in my daily life, especially when chasing dow...

As far as classes go, I find myself excited for this one. My hope is that I will get a lot out of it. As someone who is inexperienced when it comes to technology but who has always been a fan of art of all sorts, I look forward to finding where those two categories intersect and how my views of them will become more informed. This is my first foray into the blogosphere, at least with one that I have so much creative control over, so this class has already stretched what I am used to; I have never put my work in such a public place and hope that this format will push me to do work that I will be proud to share. Personally, I love to write and am glad this class is incorporating that.  On a day to day basis one could find me listening to music (i.e. Blue Suede's 'Hooked on a Feeling' 20 times in a row, give or take), watching sitcoms, stressing that the outfit I have chosen for the day does not accurately portray my personality, and video chatting with my, if I must co...
